Dilaudid Overdose
Dilaudid overdose respiratory
symptoms occur most often in patients sensitive to
medication and not tolerant to chronic opiate use.
Even moderate therapeutic doses of Dilaudid
oral liquid and tablets may cause a dangerous decrease
in pulmonary ventilation. Such respiratory depression
occurs most frequently in:
- Dilaudid overdose situations
- The elderly and the debilitated
- Non-tolerant opiate patients
- Those suffering hypoxia or hypercapnia.
Dilaudid overdose potential increases when
taken with alcohol.
The euphoric effects of Dilaudid overdose—and
other reactions, including adverse---may be exaggerated
by dose dumping if
Dilaudid is concomitantly consumed with alcohol or benzodiazepines.
